Ubisoft Starts DRM For PC Games & Servers Crash

In mid February Ubisoft announced that as a effort to combat piracy, their games (including single player offline games…..i.e. Assassins Creed II, Silent Hunter 5 & The Settlers 7) would need constant internet connection to play them. This new anti-piracy was perceived as too strong of a method to combat piracy and didn’t go over well with PC gamers. Fast forward to this past weekend where the DRM servers in the UK went down due to the high demand of people looking to play Assassins Creed II. Ubisoft has since apologized to gamers who couldn’t play via their Twitter page. Ubisoft claims that their server was “attacked” and this is what caused it.
