Nanotechnology created world’s smallest battery

Electronic device manufactures are reducing the size of their electronic devices to manufacture handy and items. Still considerable amount of space of an electronic device is consumed by the battery or battery pack of that device. Researches have moved into develop powerful battery with very small in size. Team of researchers working at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies has created the world’s smallest battery.

This battery consists of bulk lithium cobalt cathode three millimeters long, an ionic liquid electrolyte and anode is single tin oxide (SnO2) nanowire 10 nanometers long and 100 nanometers in diameter.
