That is probably because now they definitely can. A team of three computer scientists at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire have just unveiled new software (displayed above on a Nokia N810 smart phone) that allows a cell phone to accept commands based on a user’s eye-movements and blinks. It works via a camera mounted above the phone’s display that tracks the exact position of a user’s gaze on the screen, then selects an option based on where the user is looking when their eye blinks. Users need to calibrate the device by taking a picture of their left and right eyes both indoors and outdoors before the system will function.
