With its new SPECIAL|OPS line, Digital Storm is promising to deliver some of that special magic that makes gaming desktops different than their mainstream brethren, including free overclocking (for a limited time) and the company’s 72-hour “stress test” of each system’s components, starting at a reasonable $987.
For that price, you get an AMD Phenom II X6 processor overclocked to 3.5GHz, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and a Cooler Master Elite 310. The Nvidia GeForce GT 220 graphics card is standard, though you can swap it out for an ATI Radeon HD 5670 at no cost. For an extra $100, you can get a Core i5-750 CPU, GeForce GTS 250 graphics, and the sexier-looking Cooler Master HAF 922 case.
